General Rules
Don't be a jerk. Admins shouldn't have to say it but I'm putting it bluntly. If you feel like saying something mean, bite your tongue (or your fingers) and keep it to yourself. If a staff member asks you to do something, don't argue with them over why you shouldn't have to or we're just going to think you're trying to start drama.
Speaking of Drama, keep it away from the forums and chat box. We're a happy place with love for Pokemon and love for the series we're roleplaying. If you feel wronged by another member, let a staff member know about it and we'll try to help you as best we can, but we can't when you're causing arguments - we see you as the bad guy then.
Be respectful of Proboards TOS. That means keeping the forums PG13, not doing anything explicit and just generally making sure that everything is kept suitable for that age-bracket. We don't care what you do in your spare time, but our forums are specifically for roleplaying and those roleplays must come under the TOS. Though I shouldn't have to, I must also enthuse that this also applies to forum games. Any content found to be outside of these guidelines will be deleted immediately and the member warned once before deletion.
We are a one-account-per-character forum. That means that you should create an account under the name of your characters. Any characters you have will be posted in profiles under these accounts. If you wish to have a "central" account for tracking your characters and general plotting, we are okay with that too.
Keep your chat speak to the shout box and only then, and if you can help it avoid using things like "U" and "R", it's not that hard to type an extra two letters.
We will hold bi-monthly activity checks, at which time I will be looking over canons and high ranking or "powerful" characters. and deciding whether or not they are active enough to play those roles. Side characters are obviously not as important, but the discretion on how your activity is working is up to the staff members.
In regards to graphics, my rule is to give credit where credit is due. Do not use images that are copyrighted or watermarked, and if you are using someone's artwork, please try to make sure you have their permission - especially if it is off an art site like DeviantArt.
Treat people how you want to be treated. It's common sense and the first thing you're taught in school. Bullies will not be tolerated, nor will people who use guilt to get their way. If you try to, expect to see yourself on the ban list.
IC Rules
Our forum's focus is on grammar, spelling and punctuation. Though we don't require a set number of words, we will have a quiet word with you if every post comes out "luking lik Dis!1" or if you're constantly spamming one-liners in threads. Try to at least match your partner if they are making paragraph posts, don't give them a few sentences in response.
You may have as many characters as you wish, but don't neglect them! Characters are mind-babies who you should love and cherish, if you can't find muse for a character, why not consider putting them up for adoption to see if someone else would like to take over their role? This is especially important if you lose the muse for a canon character who has been involved in some kind of a plot.
Keep IC and OOC separate. They are two separate realities, and if you cannot see the difference then we would ask you to step back for a few moments. Rude characters do not mean rude players, so keep your thinking cap on when dealing with a character who does not like your own, the roleplayer probably likes you personally plenty.
Do not powerplay, metagame or godmod. If you cannot reasonably work out the outcome of a battle, ask an administrator and the winner will be randomized. If you are caught arguing on who won a battle or captured a pokemon, it will be re-released and your character will not have the opportunity to battle again for a short while.
Do join open threads. You might be surprised about who you enjoy roleplaying with, and how good someone may be that you haven't played with before. We are all friendly, and no one will bite. Make sure the thread is open before throwing your character in however. Don't post when there's a title claiming it for a character in particular.
When an admin makes a decision - be it about a random legendary encounter or battle outcome - it is final. If you feel greatly wronged you may bring it up via a respectful PM to the admin and it will be discussed, but we are trying to run a stress-free, fun Pokemon-based site where people can roleplay what they wish.
Remember that there are other types of characters than the all mighty Trainers. Researchers, Breeders, Coordinators, Collective Forces! They're all great and you don't necessarily have to have the best battler to have a character who gains respect. Try different things - you just might like it.
Consequences
The first consequence will be a gentle warning by PM. Do not argue with a warning from a staff member, if you feel that a staff member is bullying you, bring it to a different staffer and we will mediate. Do not argue!
Second consequence will be a two-day ban from posting as well as a cancellation of any major threads that you art participating in. If you are in a thread capturing a Pokemon, you will forfeit and not gain said Pokemon. If you are in a battle, you will forfeit said battle and the thread will be closed.
Final consequence will be a ban from the site. We do not tolerate constant-rule breaking and here it is third strike, you're out. The only time you will not have the second consequence between ban and warning is with rated content. We will not tolerate it more than once.
You can have your "three steps" removed if you have three months of good behavior and you will be moved back to the warning stage.
All consequences are at the discretion of the admin team.
